Typical passenger handling activities ranging from reservation, check-in to Lost&Found are combined in the “handling package” and transferred to the daughter company AustroPort, acting as handling agent for international airlines, based on a ground handling contract according to IATA standards.
Experience for many years, partially even for decades, of the AustroPort collaborators – especially of the managing personnel – in the airline and handling business are the basis for professional work, competent service, and reliable quality, which is checked and strengthened by extensive, permanent training.
This has become necessary in particular due to different electronic reservation and handling systems: depending on the airlines serviced, conventional
Gabriel and airlinespecific,internet-based reservation systems (e.g. Tarantella of Eurowings for Germanwings) as well as conventional check-in systems such as Atraxis/Orca, Deltamatic and CODECO are applied.
The Lost&Found service uses, of course, the worldwide World Tracer System of SITA.
AustroPort has access to the electronic systems at the respective counters and working places - according to the standard of the Vienna airport - by means of CUTE workstations, or high perfomance broadband connections in the company LAN.
